Jamshedpur, Jan 3: The Daarain Foundation in collaboration with Purnima Netrayalaya Hospital organised Free Eye Check-up Camp for underprivileged communities at Public Welfare School, Azadnagar, Mango, on 3rd January 2021.
This camp was inaugurated by Banna Gupta, Health Minister of Jharkhand. Speaking on the occasion, Banna Gupta said, “Eyes play an important role in the functioning of human body along with other body organs. life would be sheer darkness if vision is lost.”
The objective of this camp was to spread awareness on eye disorders, early detection of ailments, and to detect refractive errors, said Abdul Malik Misbahi, Founder of Daarain Foundation.
A team of members from Purnima Netralaya Hospital were visited the venue. Eye specialists and their team attended to 235 patients. The beneficiaries attending the free eye camp were evaluated for vision (refractive error) and eye ailments. Those requiring surgery especially Motiyabeen (72 patients) were advised surgery, and will be send to Purnima Netralaya by 8 January.
